Infant Chiropractic Care
Here’s the why. Every human being has a spine that needs to remain aligned in order for the organs in your body to self-regulate and run properly. The brain communicates with the body by sending signals through the spinal cord and to all the cells, organs, and function aspect of your body. Those same parts of your body rely on being able to send those signals back to the brain. For this to occur properly and effectively, the spinal column needs to be aligned. If this continual loop of information is restricted, then the nervous system will suffer from interference. By fixing the spinal alignment with a chiropractic adjustment, whether in a baby or full grown adult, the body is better able to heal and perform better.
Some Reasons Why
While it used to be that most parents only brought their baby in for a chiropractic adjustment, it’s become a lot more common now that entire families visit the chiropractor to improve their health. If more people only knew the number of diseases and disorders they could avoid through maintaining proper spinal alignment and a healthy lifestyle, we would see even more patients each day at the chiropractor rather than the doctor’s office. So, babies stand as much to gain or more from chiropractic adjustments as their parents. Dr. Meyer is happy to provide both parents and babies chiropractic care at his Chiropractic office in Southlake.
Chiropractic adjustments are gentle and effective. Often the baby is lying on the parent or a small pillow and the doctor uses the tip of their finger applying gentle pressure and motion to the spinal joint. Sometimes a small tool called an activator is used to perform the adjustment; it makes a clicking noise and distributes a very light force into the joint. Often the doctor will perform this on the parent’s hand so they can be assured of the light pressure and be comfortable knowing exactly what is occurring.
One of the incredible things about chiropractic care and babies is the results often are seen much quicker than in adults. Babies have not experienced the years of poor posture, accidents, or years of stress that most adults have, and so their tiny bodies respond much quicker to correction. It is an amazing thing to witness. Chiropractic care for babies is an excellent foundational approach to overall health and wellness, as well as a conservative care option for many issues that parents face.
